Celina Jaitley- the New face of Diya Jewellery

Leading Bollywood actress and model Celina Jaitley was announced on September 14,2010 as the new face of Diya, the diamond jewellery brand from the Gitanjali group that offers exquisite diamond jewellery designs at extremely affordable prices.

Simultaneously, the brand also unveiled its new ad campaign for print and TVC. The Diya campaign uses ethereal imagery to encapsulate the brand’s tagline – ‘Born of Dreams’. Set against nature it depicts the metamorphosis of the beautiful Diya woman into a dove / peacock etc as she adorns herself with the jewellery.

The Diya range of designs has been created combining the essence of the Gitanjali Group’s four-decade long engagement with diamond jewellery as well as the findings of a rigorous all India survey covering over 6000 respondents. The classic designs are available at amazing prices. The technically superb craftsmanship with low gold weight and a wide variety of diamond combinations provides a range of price points suitable for almost any budget. Each piece is BIS hallmarked and has the details of the diamond content laser etched on it; they are sold with a Gitanjali Certificate of Assurance.

New brand ambassador Celina Jaitley says, “I love the range that Diya has to offer – unconventional, yet feminine, beautiful patterns that can be worn with both Western and Indian wear. The jewellery designs are very different, very out of this world, very out of your fantasy, something you would really love a Prince Charming to present you with.”

Never Celina has appeared so gorgeous before:

Celina Jaitley - Lesbian

For the first time ever in the history...arrghhh. Not working. Ok, let me try this. For the first time ever in my journalistic career, I am writing the stand first even before I've interviewed the celebrity. I call it an 'On Location Intro'. What's more, it's going to be a long one because our starry photographer Vickky Idnani is present at the steamy Jaitley's terraced apartment doing an outdoor photoshoot with her. Lucky I got my laptop with me because you never know when the inspiration comes thick and fast. The first one as I call it in my words was - The Butterfly Effect. Nestled in the heart of an angel with a white gown and wings, Celina looked celestial, and life hasn't always looked so blissful. Are not all angels spirits that minister and their ministry is directed towards those people who are going to inherit everlasting life? I was on the verge of inheriting one till my hands touched the hot cuppa coffee mug. "Please finish your photoshoot Celina, I'll wait", I said. So as a spectator, I was watching too many flashes sprinkled upon the actress trying to control the wind which was blowing her well kept hair and her wings which kept falling off her back. "Let's have a messy look Celina", suggested Idnani. A few poses here and there and that's it. It was time for a dress change. In walks the white angel and out comes the red princess. Oh I wish I was her knight in shining armour. Jaitley sits on the piano chair while the photographer adjusts the light. To our surprise, Celina plays the piano and how! A one minute wonder gets the much awaited standing ovation from all present there including me. Back to some serious shoot. A wine glass with some red wine in it kept untidily in her hands, her hair falling off her shoulders and her body resting on the piano made me recall the UB40's famous number, 'Red red wine'. Wish she could play that on her piano. Anyway, from all the fun and frolic of the shoot we move on to the dining table. Just me and her. Time for some serious talk arrives. I was a bit apprehensive on whether or not Celina will graciously acknowledge my questions in the right context, in spite of me knowing that she openly talks about issues pertaining to gays, sex, marriage, politics and much more in a wider spectrum. For me though, this was my first time being too bold about the way I've ever asked questions to any celebrity. In fact, I actually felt like angelic Celina was sitting on my shoulder saying, "Let's go for it". What followed went down to be the most intrepid interview Celina Jaitley has ever given to any media so far.

"No one from the Industry turned up for Feroz Khan's funeral" - Celina Jaitly

On Monday evening Celina Jaitly was very upset, and not just because her mentor and guide and friend Feroz Khan had passed away.

At the funeral in Bangalore, Celina was horrified to see the poor turn-out from the film industry. "There was just me, Sajid Khan, Sanjay Gupta and Kishen Kumar. No one else came from Mumbai except the entire family of Feroz Khan .Among the top stars there was only Hrithik...But he's family to the Khans."

Celina can't hold back her tears. "I was shooting in Delhi when I heard of Feroz's death. I couldn't get a direct flight, so I flew into Bangalore from Mumbai. I had to. I couldn't hold myself back. Feroz Khan was not just the man who gave me my first break. He was my dear friend. I am close to both his children Fardeen and Laila. As for Feroz, what can I say? I could discuss anything from Oscar Wilde to the latest Bollywood film with him. He inspired, amused and amazed me with his knowledge and enthusiasm."

The last time Celina met Feroz was three weeks ago. "I met him at the Breach Candy hospital. He got into his Versace track suit to meet me. That was the man, stylish even when he was in acute pain. He had needles sticking out of his body but he was wearing Versace. He said to me, 'Celina Baby (that's what he called me) Look at what these f***ers have done to me."

She bursts into tears. "I'll miss him so much. I've lost a dear friend, a father-figure. Years ago he had made Zeenat Aman a bikini girl in Qurbani. He made me the same in Janasheen. I'm very proud to be a Feroz Khan hero
